Annual Workshops for Training of Librarians
For the past three years CCDC has conducted weeklong workshops in August of each year for its librarians to further develop and update their theoretical and practical library skills. These workshops are conducted at the head offices of CCDC in Tehran, and librarians from all village libraries of the Center are required to attend. CCDC provides for all transportation and boarding of the librarians during their attendance of the workshops.
Each year CCDC chooses a different topic of discussion and learning for these workshops, and invites experts in the field to teach the young librarians on relevant subjects. Topics of discussion for first through third year workshops have respectively been (1) Librarianship, attracting children and rural inhabitants to libraries, child behavior and psychology, child developmental stages, and such; (2) Library activities such as group book reading, understanding and appreciation of various art forms, creative arts, etc; and (3) Knowledge of old literature, popular and children’s literature, creative arts and report writing. CCDC is currently engaged in preparing for the August 2010 workshop.
